Welcome to ASWA Music City Chapter #164

It is our similarities that attract us but our differences that add value!

Mission:

The mission of the ASWA is to enable women in all accounting and related fields to achieve their full personal, professional and economic potential and to contribute to the future development of their profession.

ASWA Music City:

We are a member-driven organization focused on providing opportunities through continuing education, networking, peer-to-peer learning -- all while having an amazing time. Women in accounting and finance-related fields have unique challenges and the women of Nashville were starved for a group they could call their own. It was obvious when we were chartered in record breaking time.

We realize Nashville is a “BIG SMALL TOWN” and we are dedicated to establishing and maintaining relationships with our town and our members. We promise to deliver our best in monthly programming and networking to promote the necessary skills for personal and professional development. We invite you to join our dynamic group of professionals and get in on the ground floor to help make it YOUR Music City ASWA. Please check out our calendar of events for upcoming meetings and networking events or contact any of our board members to find out more on how you can become involved.

It was announced at the 2009 Joint National Conference, in Las Vegas, that the 2010 Conference will be here in Nashville, TN!

Be sure to mark your calendar for September 27-29, 2010 to be at The Music City Sheraton for this fabulous event.

The American Society of Women Accountants offers several events throughout the year on the national, regional and local levels.  The annual "Joint National Conference" held in conjunction with the American Woman's Society of CPA's offers the opportunity to earn up to 24 hours of continuing professional education at an affordable price. The JNC provides a program that offers a myriad of opportunities to help you meet your continuing education goals, whether technical or "soft-skills" focused, as well as an opportunity to network with other women of similar backgrounds.

Karen Gunther, Former ASWA National President, had this to say about the newly formed ASWA Music City Chapter.

“The chartering of the ASWA Music City chapter was very exciting for the organization because it included many superlatives and firsts: from the first organizational meeting to the chartering, the Music City chapter organized faster than any other chapter in at least the last decade; the chapter chartered with the most members ever under the revised chartering requirements; and the chapter’s size grew from small to medium within just 60 days. THAT is a first!”
